I think the trade is good for Dallas. Ribeiro has one year left on his contract and they could get some younger guys into the system. Faksa is a great pickup by the Stars since they have no one down the middle now especially after trading Ribeiro.

I don't mind losing Ribiero but it certainly leaves a hole at center next year unless something else (trade or free agent signing) is forthcoming. Faksa was a great pick who I did not think would be available at 13. He has the potential to develop into a top six player. I hope they are able to pick up another center prospect in round 2 as they are sorely lacking in this area.

I hope joe has something planed to bring in a center. Benn needs to play Lw. If he can't bring in a 1c, faksa better be prepared to duplicate seasons like his fellow Kitchener players the past 2 years. Definitely think we should have gotten more outa ribs. I just don't think joe has the balls to make that big trade.

I think you guys might have won the draft. Either you or the Sabres. Forsberg should have gone waaay earlier than 11th overall and you also got Wilson who looks promising and not to mention the Ribeiro trade.

Yeah for sure, they definitely need to upgrade on center. Jokinen and Perverly could be of use but not long term

Huddle loves Faksa.
You got a serious player there.

I got so fed up with Ribeiro this year I wanted him put on waivers. Maybe being on a team where he's not the top center will put him back into his place. Hopefully it does, because when he's playing well he's highly entertaining.

This move makes me think it has more to do with Gulutzan wanting him gone than anything else. Ribeiro was popular in the room, but everyone knows he does his own thing on the ice which can supplant a rookie coach's message to a young team, and this team would have gotten younger with or without Ribeiro on the team too.

I agree. He was not a core player in the Stars long term plans and he would have been traded or become an UFA next year, so trade him now for whatever you could get and move on. With good ownership finally in place, the Stars can finally look long term in their decisions again. And if the Stars could add Kerdiles in the second round like Bill suggested to go along with Faska, the Stars center position is looking a lot stronger.

Ribiero is very talented. That's a hole that they'll need to fill and Washington has really good depth at center now.
